On Point for Women’s Health
If you’re a woman, this week’s email is just for you. And if you are not, please share this with a woman you care about because we’re going to talk about acupuncture and women’s health.
As a woman, it’s essential to actively care for your health during all the phases of your life. Living in harmony with nature’s cycles nurtures your wellbeing and improves your quality of life.
Acupuncture identifies specific meridian and organ systems, in this case, the kidney, spleen, and liver, which are related to gynecological health. When one or more of these systems are affected, you may experience discomfort before or during your cycle. Fertility issues can also be related to these organs. Acupuncture can provide relief and healing for these women’s issues as well as PMS, fibroids, and endometriosis.
Pregnancy comes with its own challenges. Acupuncture treatments have been shown to be safe and effective for many of the symptoms that accompany pregnancy including anxiety and stress, constipation, edema, fatigue, heartburn, morning sickness, and more.
And later, there is “the change.” Hot flashes, insomnia, mood swings, memory problems, vaginal dryness, and changes in libido are all signs of menopause, a natural transition that marks the end of a woman’s reproductive years. Many of the signs and symptoms of menopause can be relieved through acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine as well as centers like Advanced Gynecology of Alpharetta.
Heart disease also becomes a concern as we age, and the good news is that acupuncture can help support your good health and help eliminate some of the risk factors.
