Dr. Thorburns Tip: Stay Cool in Hot Weather (Chiropractor Burbank Ca)
Summer time is here! Hydration refers to the process of restoring water to the body tissues. Here are some simple hydration tips that can have a big impact on hot-weather health.
1. Get more fluids from healthy foods: Summer seasonal fruits and vegetables make great snacks and meals, plus they’re high in water which can help you stay better hydrated throughout the day. Berries, melons, cherries, apricots, crisp lettuce, cucumbers, zucchini, other squash, asparagus, tomatoes, etc.
2. Drink before you’re thirsty: Always drink water frequently and especially before you do a summer activity. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty – by that time, you may already be dehydrated.
3. Spruce up your water: Add slices of lemon, orange, lime or cucumber to your water – it’s a great way to enhance the taste without adding artificial flavors, colors and sugars.
