Get Your B’s for Healthy Eyes

A study from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston reports that ingesting a mixture of B vitamins reduced by one-third the chance of middle-aged women developing macular degeneration. Macular degeneration is a breakdown of the macular, the back wall of the eye, which causes a gradual loss of vision due to deterioration of nerve tissue.
The study involved more than 5,000 women aged 40 and older. Smoking depletes B vitamins as does stress.
Foods naturally high in the B’s include dark green leafy vegetables, other fresh fruits and vegetables, most nuts, whole grains, fish, turkey and other proteins. The research suggests that the use of B vitamins is a way to prevent deficiencies.
To be sure that you are getting enough B’s, my personal recommendation is our Cataplex B and Cataplex G because our vitamins come from food rather than the synthetic vitamins usually sold in stores. Toxicity from synthetic B vitamins can include nerve damage, headaches and fatigue.
